修中诚（1883—1956），原名修斯（Ernest Richard Hughes），英国汉学家，为中英学术交流做出了杰出贡献。1911—1933年在华，活跃于中国学术界，尤其与胡适、冯友兰、陈寅恪等关系密切；1934—1947年主持牛津大学汉学研究和教学；1942—1943年再度来华。
主要著作有：《西方世界对中国的侵略》（The Invasion of China by the Western World, 1937），《大学 中庸》英译本（The Great Learning & the Mean-in-Action, 1943），冯友兰《新原道》英译本（The Spirit of Chinese Philosophy, 1947），《中国的宗教》（Religion in China, 1950），陆机《文赋》英译本（The Art of Letters: Lu Chi’s “Wen Fu”，1951），《两位中国诗人（班固和张衡）：汉朝生活与思想剪影》（Two Chinese Poets: Vignettes of Han Life and Thought, 1960）。
