叶文心，台湾大学历史学学士、美国加州大学伯利分校历史学博士。现为美国加州大学东亚研究所所长，历史学系Richard H. and Laurie. C Morrison教授、东亚研究所Walter and Elise Haas讲座教授。 学术领域：中国近现代史、民国史研究。著有Provincial Passages: Culture, Space, and the Origins of Chinese Communism、The Alienated Academy: Culture and Politics in Republican China等，致力研究二十世纪初中国思想文化史，包括五四新文化运动以及中国共产党早期历史等代表性课题。近期新著作《上海繁华》（Shanghai Splendor）以上海城市文化史为主题，于二○○七年出版，中译本于二○一○年出版。
