伊索寓言

本书英文选自1910年伦敦出版的《伊索寓言》（TheFablesofAesop，1894年初版），由生于1854年的澳大利亚民俗学家、十九世纪最受欢迎的童话改编家之一约瑟夫·雅各布斯选编。本书的插图由英国插图画家理查德·海韦编绘。这一版本在二十世纪最初十年间一版再版，是影响最大、流传最广、深受读者喜爱的图书之一。现在，我们将这一版本全书通译，完全采用原书的绘图，相信依旧能引起读者们的共鸣。

《伊索寓言（精）／徐家汇藏书楼双语故事经典》编著者伊索。
上海科学技术文献出版社以“徐家汇藏书楼双语故事经典”丛书之名，选取百年前问世的二十二个儿童文学经典版本进行编辑和翻译，采用中英文双语对照的形式出版，保留大量精美插图。沉睡中的经典被重新唤醒，走进现今孩童们的阅读生活里；它们超越了遥远的时空，历久弥新，因而获得了永恒的意味。
《伊索寓言（精）／徐家汇藏书楼双语故事经典》》是古希腊的一部寓言总集，成书的确切年代已不可考。传说公元前六世纪它已在古希腊广泛流传。1610年，瑞士学者伊萨克.内夫雷编辑出版了第三版的《伊索寓言》，这是自《伊索寓言》问世至十七世纪初，世界上最完善的集大成者。自此以后的三百年间，就传播而言，除了《圣经》外，无一书能与《伊索寓言》相媲美。《伊索寓言》对欧洲乃至世界文学的发展产生了久远的、难以估量的影响。尤其对欧洲早期寓言叙事诗的影响最大。
