英文版《走进中国-北京（Approaching China - Beijing）》一书日前由上海人民美术出版社出版。这是上海人美近年来重点打造的《走进中国》系列精品图书中的一部。
2008年第29届奥运会的临近，使得北京在海外的名声越来越大，很多海外游客都想更深入地了解北京这座古老而又年轻的城市。《北京》卷的出版将为来京的海外旅游者提供一个全面认识北京的捷径。
《走进中国-北京（Approaching China - Beijing）》图文并茂，设计精美，既有实用价值，又得收藏。书中以“历史的北京”、“皇家的北京”、“百姓的北京”、“文化的北京”、“休闲的北京”和“现代的北京”为线索，不仅介绍了北京的历史、古迹和景点，也介绍了北京的文化、饮食和休闲娱乐场所。
《走进中国-北京（Approaching China - Beijing）》一书的中文原稿作者王岳龙是土生土长的北京人，曾任新华社北京分社记者（主任记者），长期采访报道北京的文化、教育、体育等领域。后任中华网(china.com)网站副总裁，现在新华社广告中心工作。他以自己多年来在采访报道中的所积累的素材为主，结合自己的生活阅历，为海外游客了解北京提供了新的视角。
