《新核心大学英语泛读 教程（第二版）》以科技语 篇为主，修订的基本思路是 替换篇章、修改题型、补充 资源以体现科技发展最新成 果，融入课程思政元素，帮 助学生备考大学英语四、六 级考试。修订的重点包括三 个方面：一是选取与主题相 关的或者能呈现中国最新发 展的文章，替换原有略显落 后陈旧的语篇，以体现科技 的时代性；二是增加中国文 化和中国科技的多模态课程 思政资源，以凸显中国元素 ，落实立德树人根本要求； 三是调整长篇阅读的题型， 以适应大学英语四、六级考 试的最新变化。 每个单元增加了一句与 主题相关的中国先贤的名言 ，中英文对照，帮助学生理 解单元主题和中国传统文化 。 针对原有部分文章年代 久远、落后于时代的问题， 选取并替换为更具有前沿性 或者能够体现中国对世界科 学发展贡献的篇章，内容包 括对中国首位诺贝尔医学奖 得主屠呦呦的介绍、由 ChatGPT引发的学术道德问 题等。 为了适应大学英语四、 六级考试的新题型，将每个 单元扩展阅读（Extensive Reading）中快速阅读 （speed Reading）部分的 第二篇文章题目更新为段落 信息匹配题，增加学生阅读 练习的数量。 本书为第一册。
