This code is formulated with a view to specifying the principles,basic contents and technical requirements to suit the sediment design of hydropower proj ects. This code is applicable to the sediment design oflarge-and medium-sized hydropower projects newly constructed,reconstructed or extended,including pumped-storage power projects and tidal power projects. The scope of sediment design in this code involves the reservoir area and the key hydraulic structures area of a hydropower project,as well as the affected river reaches downstream.
