论WH量化

本书作者在对前人研究进行了清楚的梳理后，提出了一种合并两种理论的观点，并将两种机制分别运用于不同类型的wh-词上，解决以往移位说和无选择约束各自无法解释的问题。

wh-量化结构的句法语义自20世纪七八十年代以来成为生成语法中最重要的课题之一。本书从wh-量化切入，分析人类语言在逻辑语义的层面如何对不同性质的wh-词进行解读。作者认为wh-词解读的跨语言和语言内的差别由wh-词的性质（算子vs.变量），wh-词的句法分布（移位vs.原位）以及解读机制（WH移位/无选择约束）决定。在原则与参数理论（Principles and Parameters Theory）的框架下，作者论证了不论是LF隐形的还是句法上显性的移位-α（Move-α）操作都需要遵守普遍语法（Universal Grammar, UG）的，而wh-词跨语言的句法差异取决于以上三个维度不同的参数设定。
