According to the ministerial standard formulation and revision program of Ministry of Water Resources and the requirements of SL 1-2002 Specification for the Dra[ting of Technical Standards of Water Resources,SL 58-93 Technical Standard for General Geodesic Survey in Hydrology is revised and renamed as Specification for Geodesic Survey in Hydrology.
This standard comprises 4 chapters and 2 annexes with the main technical contents as follows:
-Methods and requirements of the third,fourth,and fifth order vertical survey.
-Methods and requirements of cross-section survey.
-Methods and requirements of topographic survey.
The main contents revised include:
-Theodolite stadia traverse survey is cancelled.
-Side point intersection traverse is cancelled.
-Electromagnetic Distance Measurement (EDM) height traversing is added.
-Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) leveling i.s added.
-GNSS horizontal control survey is added.
-Digital mapping is added.
This standard is to replace the previous version of SL 58-93.
This standard is approved by Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China.
This standard is interpreted by Hydrology Bureau of Ministry of
Water Resources.
This standard is chiefly drafted by Hydrology Bureau of Yellow River Conservancy Commission of Ministry of Water Resources.
This standard is jointly drafted by Hydrology Bureau of Changjiang Water Resources Commission of Ministry of Water Resources,Shanghai Hydrological Station,North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power,and Hydrology Bureau ofHeilongjiang Province.
This standard is published and distributed by China Water & Power Press.
