田海，牛津大学邵逸夫中文讲座教授、中国研究中心主任。曾任教海德堡大学、莱顿大学。研究领域主要是中国社会文化史，尤其注重宗教史的研究。代表作包括Practicing Scripture： A LayBuddhist Movement in Late Imperial China（ Honolulu： Hawai'i University Press， 2014 ）；Telling Stories： Witchcraft and Scapegoating inChinese History （ Leiden： Brill， 2006 ）； TheWhite Lotus Teaehings in Chinese ReligiousHistory（Leiden： BriU，1992）等。
