在教育部高教司与全国高职高专大学英语教育指导委员会指南下，我们结合ESP（English For Specific Purposes，专门用途英语)教学的研究经验与自主学习(Autonomous Learning)理论，以及计算机专业和英语教学的特点，精心编制了本书。本书内容紧扣“专门用途英语”ESP教材的编写原则：注重选材相关性、实用性、系统性；注重任务驱动教学法的巧妙运用；注重学生技能的培养，旨在培养高职计算机专业学生的实际英语交际能力、应用能力和学习能力。
