Introduction to Dance 舞蹈学导论

吕艺生所著的《舞蹈学导论(英译本)》，是以舞蹈本体论的视角，试图从理论上认识舞蹈及中国舞蹈艺术。虽然它免不了联系中国古代文论中的理论要义，但更多的是借助西方已经译成中文的舞蹈史论成果，可以说是当代中国舞蹈学界运用中西理论来认识舞蹈本质的一个理论侧面。

为将中国当代舞蹈理论著作翻译成英文并向西方推介的成果之一，《舞蹈学导论(英译本)》(作者吕艺生)以舞蹈本体论为核心，从舞蹈定义、舞蹈本质属性、舞蹈社会功能等视角，探讨舞蹈学自身规律，构建舞蹈学基础理论，强调舞蹈本体，涉及舞蹈表演、教育、创作及舞蹈史等方面。本书结构独特，自成体系，是中国探讨舞蹈学的首部理论著作。
《舞蹈学导论(英译本)》适合对舞蹈艺术感兴趣者及相关研究者阅读。

北京舞蹈学院教授，北京舞蹈家协会主席、中国舞蹈协会顾问、中国教育学会舞蹈专业委员会理事长、北京师范大学兼职教授、北京理工大学博士研究生导师。

主要成就
1957年世界青年联欢节表演双人舞《牧笛》获银质奖章、1992年获文化优秀专家称号、1992年获国务院有特殊贡献专家待遇、1998年因编导《欢庆香港回归》获北京“五个一工程奖”、《舞蹈教育学》获得重量优秀教材二等奖、“北京舞蹈学院学科建设”获得北京市科研项目一等奖和国家二等奖。
