There is a current tendency that the fashion industry depends more and more on mass market sales. The mass market, which produces ready-to-wear clothes in large quantities and standard sizes, caters for a wide range of customers. Cheap materials, creatively used, produce affordable fashion. Mass market designers generally adapt the trends set by the famous names in fashion. They often wait around a season to make sure a style is going to catch on before producing their own versions of the original look. In order to save money and time, they use cheaper fabrics and simpler production techniques which can easily be done by machine. The end product can therefore be sold much more cheaply. A fashion week is a fashion industry event, which lasts approximately one week, where fashion designers or "houses" display their latest collections in runway shows and buys have a look at the latest trends. Most importantly, it lets the industry know what's "in" and what's "out" for the season. The most prominent fashion weeks are held in the fashion capitals such as Milan, London, New York, and Paris. ……
