In 2010, China's cultural and people-to-people exchanges with other Asian countries were more dynamic than ever. China engaged in variousforms of activities in celebration of the 60th anniversary of establishmentof diplomatic ties with India, Indonesia, Vietnam and My anmarrespectively under the theme of "Friendship Year". China celebrated the35th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties with the Philippinesand Thailand and the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic tieswith Singapore. During the "Festival of China in India" and the "Festivalof India in China", more than 200 artistic performances and exhibitionswere staged. China held the Exhibition of Masterpieces of Chinese Brush Painting and the China-Indonesia Islamic Culture Expo and Art Show inIndonesia and sent astronauts and the Yuanwang spacetracker ship to visitIndonesia. China hosted a grand gala attended by 32,000 young peoplefrom China and Vietnam in Guangxi. In 2010, there were 25.4182 million mutual visits between China and Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia, up by 17.2% year-on-year.Asian countries were among the top ten destinations of mainland outbound tourists, next only to Hong Kong and Macao. China became the biggestsource of tourists for Vietnam and Mongolia. More tourists visited the Shanghai World Expo from the ROK and Japan than any other country in the world.
