《跨文化交际能力的教学与评估》是Michael Byram(拜拉姆)博士最具代表性的学术力作,可以说 是对其实际教学经历和参与的一些国际跨文化项目的 总结。本书从跨文化的角度诠释了外语教学,认为学 习外语的目的应在于对国外的世界有更多的了解,并 且能有效地与外界进行沟通。说话者不但能使用他者 的语言,而且也能从他者的角度,以对方的文化背景 来思考,在面对文化差异时,能有对他文化的了解和 包容。Byram教授在书中提出了跨文化交际能力 (Intercultural Communieative Competence),他 认为具备这种能力的人不仅能够有效地与外国人的交 流,还能够克服文化优越感和文化偏见,能够和来自 异国文化背景的人互相达成妥协与理解,使交流得到 互惠双赢的结果。
