萧伯纳

英斯编写的《萧伯纳》系《剑桥文学指南》丛书 中的一种，是一本由英、美、加拿大知名学者新近撰 写的论文集。全书从各个层面阐述了萧氏戏剧的创作 思想及技巧，尤其着重于从政治背景和戏剧舞台创作 这两个角度进行分析和介绍。全书分为三大部分。第 一部分主要从社会和文化的角度进行研究。第二部分 则从戏剧创作本身阐述了萧氏的文学成就。第三部分 着重于萧氏在舞台创作、导演等方面的成就与影响， 介绍了萧氏在编剧、舞台技巧、导演等方面的独特追 求，并提出了一种以音乐剧的形式欣赏萧氏戏剧的全 新概念。另外，书中还收录了大量萧氏戏剧的剧照， 并附有一份详细的萧氏生平年平，对于从事戏剧创作 、编导、评论及研究的专家学者和有志于研究萧氏戏 剧的人士，有着重要的参考价值。
