本套书是按照话题进行编写的，每个单元一个话题。每册书24个单元，同时加寒暑假的40篇文章，reading for fun类的文章，让学生可以学习到一些涉及能力或者其他方面的知识。所有单元的Text A 和Text B两篇文章，都是基于教材的话题和内容改编而成，这样，学生可以把教材内容延伸到我们这里，跟读文章，练习口语和听力，同时可以学习新词，低年级学生学着写话，高年级学着写作文。每个话题精编了适量题目，供学生在读后接着练习，练习侧重学生能力的提升。
