何其莘、童明编著的《文化透视英语教程(1普通 高等教育十一五国家级规划教材)》为中美专家合作 编写，是一套缜密切入英美文化各个层面，培养英语 运用能力的有机教程。此套教材的教学基本理念是： 把学术焦点放在中西文化的表里差异中，以培养准确 、纯正的英语，从而生动无碍地掌握语言技能。与国 内现有同类教材相比，本套教材有以下特点：全部文 章采用英文原文，力图保持原汁原味；切入英语文化 的各个层面、各个情景，以期在更大的语境中提高学 生的语言理解和运用能力；进入英语文化，将焦点放 在中外文化的差异上，并配有互动式练习。本套教材 不仅适用于高校英语专业学生，也适用于入学时英语 水平较高的非英语专业英语，以及有一定英语基础而 准备出国深造的英语学习者。

童明，[美]（笔名，原名刘军）1992年获美国麻省大学英美文学博士学位，现任美国加州州立大学洛杉矶分校英语系教授；曾担任纽约联合国总部译员。撰写的有关英美文学、欧洲文学、文学文化理论的论文散见于美国学术出版社的专著和学术刊物：近作有《美国文学史》（英文）。 何其莘，教授、博士生导师。曾在英国埃克塞特大学作访问学者（中英友好奖学金项目）和美国印第安那州立大学作访问学者（富布莱特项目）。研究课题有英语词汇学、词典学、英语教学与词典使用、英语专业基础阶段教学（尤其是精读和写作）。曾出版《英国戏剧选读》、《英国戏剧史》、《新概念英语》（新版）（共10册）等。曾获优秀教学成果奖陕西省一等奖等荣誉，曾被评为全国教育战线劳动模范，被授予“人民教师”勋章。
