诗集采用汉英对照的形式，共收入123首短诗。诗歌采用儿童视角，有意尝试从儿童的思维和眼光来认识和体悟世界，诗人尝试让自己的灵感、想象和孩子们的天真、童趣实现有效对接，以求用童心童眼看世界，进而呈现出具有独特审美的诗歌作品。诗歌主要取材于诗人在现实生活中的所见、所思、所悟。选材贴近生活，从细微之处着眼，从小处破题，由小见大、由浅入深，力求家长或孩子们读后能产生心灵的共鸣，可以从中得到启悟，实现艺术审美和个人情趣的陶冶。

车延高，1956年生于山东莱阳，武汉大学经济学博士，中国作家协会会员。1979年开始业余文学创作，有诗歌、杂文、散文、随笔、小说、报告文学等作品发表于各类报纸杂志。著有诗集《日子就是江山》《把黎明惊醒》《向往温暖》《车延高诗选》等和散文集《醉眼看李白》。获第八届十月文学奖·诗歌奖、第一届汉语诗歌双年十佳奖、第五届鲁迅文学奖·诗歌奖等。
