Jindong Cai is an orchestra conductor, who also
writes about music in China and directs the US-
China Music Institute of the Bard College
Conservatory of Music. They are the co-authors
of Rhapsody in Red: How Classical Music Became
Chinese and Beethoven in China: How the Great
Composer Became an Icon in the People’s
Republic.
