得见的上述作品，每辑收10种英文旧籍。本辑收录
《中国和中国人》（China and the Chinese）、
《中国：政治，商业和社会》（China:
Political, Commercial, and Social）、《中国
：中国法律，礼仪和风格的历史》（China: A
History of the Laws, Manners, and Customs
of the People）等。全文影印的同时，进行了整
理工作：对每种旧籍翻译其书名、作者名、目录、
前言、序、内容介绍、跋、后记等；结合原书内容
或相关资料，为每种书撰写一篇提要，内容包括作
者信息，如生卒年、国籍、简单生平（尤其是在中
国的主要经历、主要业绩）、主要著述及历史评价
等；本书信息，如成书背景、成书时间、主要内容
、主要观点、历史评价等。便于研究者的阅读、使
用。
